The Biofach 2023 event provided a valuable opportunity for discussion and dialogue, thanks to a series of initiatives conducted within the framework of “Being Organic in EU.” This project was established with the goal of promoting the European organic culture, achieved through collaboration between FederBio, Naturland, and IFOAM OE, focusing on crucial themes within the organic world.
In the session titled “European organic market developments,” discussions centered on the developments in the EU organic market, which is experiencing a slowdown in demand following pre-Covid trends. During the Covid period, there had been an acceleration in demand. The emerged consensus highlighted the fundamental role of communication, particularly when established collaboratively among operators in the organic world. This communication is considered an essential lever to strengthen, aiming to inform consumers and enable them to understand all the underlying values of choosing organic products. All speakers in the session agreed on the importance of sharing international experiences, made possible by EU promotional projects such as Being Organic in EU.
Another significant moment was the “Networking Reception,” during which Eduardo Cuoco, Director of IFOAM Organics Europe, Paolo Carnemolla, Secretary-General of FederBio, and Marco Schlüter, Head of Strategy & International at Naturland, presented the objectives and activities of the “Being Organic in EU” project.
The reception provided a valuable opportunity to facilitate relationships and social interaction among different operators in the organic world. It also emphasized the importance of EU promotional campaigns for stakeholders in the organic sector and the future of the industry.
