ORGANIC: WHY CONSUMPTION IN ITALY ISN’T TAKING OFF

“Organic” alone isn’t enough to convince Italians of the value of food products with this certification anymore: in one year, they lost 1.1% of revenue, stopping at 3.9 billion euros (source: Nomisma/NielsenIQ). Organic products represent only 3.2% of the overall turnover of the food and beverage industry. This is minimal for Italy, which ranks first in the EU for the number of organic processors and third for surface area.
