ORGANICS IN GATHERING: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF FEDERBIO PRODUCER MEMBERS

The National Assembly of FederBio producer members is organised to give a voice to organic farming producers. The event brought together the 16 associations of organic producers.

An integrated approach to foster nutrient circularity, critical issues of the certification system and bureaucratic burden, and supporting the right price are some of the key points that define the approach of organic farming, a growing sector that meets the objectives of the European Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies.

During the day, which was held on 6 July 2023 at Palazzo Rospigliosi (Roma), the Manifesto of Organic Producers was defined, a document that marks an important step forward for the sector, so that organic agriculture takes an increasingly central role in the country’s political and economic decisions.

The Manifesto is the result of the contents that emerged during the four webinars organised by FederBio in the months leading up to the assembly, in which producer members, associations, institutions, and scientific referees discussed crucial issues such as:

– Legislation and self-production standards for technical means in organic farming

– Reform of the certification system and simplification of bureaucracy

– Fair price for farmers in the organic market

– Can organic be the future of animal husbandry?
